A bit of history
Fluminense lifted their first Libertadores in 2023, beating Boca 2-1 at the Maracaná, after finishing runners-up in 2008. Rio's Tricolor plays in the temple itself: the Maracaná.
Fun fact
Their prettiest ritual: as the team walks out, the crowd throws talc into the air, the famous 'pó de arroz'. A white cloud drifts down over the Maracaná.
